Curry night

Planning a curry night but looking to cheat a bit and mix and match home-made with a few judiciously chosen supermarket dishes. Can anyone recommend their favourites? Interested in mains, daals, sides, breads, rice etc and I'm able to get to most of the big shops. Thank you!

I was rubbish at curry cooking until i came across the spicery cook books with spice blends. I've bought several of these n ow and replenished the spice blends zillions of times.

The tarka dall is out of this world and as simple to make as a cup of tea. Beautiful delicious pilao rice and countless amazing curries with really simple recipes. I do 3 curries and pilao in under an hour.

I don't bother with take out now i can make such good curries so easily.

For a straight forward chicken tikka, Charlie Bighams is sound.
second the frozen parathas. Don’t try to cook them too high. Brown and crisp is perfect, burnt patches and undercooked, not so much
for a decent Peshawari naan , a trip to the local takeaway works. They can then be frozen. Not as good, but better than anything I have found in a supermarket
