Would you put them both in?

Or is that like two puddings in there.

Put both in.

OverMyDeadBody · 24/06/2008 09:56

As a one off I might put both in, but not on a regular occurance.

I am mean mummy though, have never put cake in lunchbox.

OverMyDeadBody · 24/06/2008 09:57

would rather keep the cake for myself and sling some extra carrot sticks in lunchbox

PeaGreene · 24/06/2008 10:03

Well, it was a small cake today. Could be a couple of chocolate biscuits tomorrow. I always put a treat in.

carrot sticks are a treat!

PeaGreene · 24/06/2008 10:07

Absolutely, they are indeed.

Depends if dc is a skinny or a porker, what activities they are doing today, or if they were particularly good this morning and deserve a special treat.

It isn't Friday. DS always gets a little chocolatey thing (sm Kitkat or some such) as an extra on a Friday (unless totally evil on Friday morning, when I make a point of taking it out).

DS is average size, normal energy levels for a 7 year old (!), a good eater (eats everything in the lunchbox inc the carrot sticks )

Today he had chicken and tomato sandwich, grapes, a yoghurt, a small fairy cake (no icing) and a drink (squash). Probably a bit over sweet to be fair.

Oh it won't hurt him. Live a little.

Tinkjon · 24/06/2008 14:21

I would definitely put both in.

dd, seven had a picnic sized pitta with ham, smallish bag of cucumber, carrots and tomatoes, small bag of nice crisps, three thin biscuits, a plum and a carton of apple juice. She had a frube type thing and some blueberries for her snack (in the US, so no 5 a day here). ds had school lunches, but would usually have about the same. They are good eaters and flake without enough fuel. I like to make sure they have a good supply of calcium, so always put in either frube type thing or cheese. I don't think cakes (small) are an issue for small children unless their is a weight issue as IME they burn it all off. But then my kids come out of school demanding more food

candyfluff · 25/06/2008 14:00

both . u have to think that they are going from 7 am until 12pm without food so as long as the rest of thier lunch is balanced then yoghurt and a cake is acceptable
