Rotten eggs

has anyone else noticed a decline in the quality of supermarket eggs lately?

we have 2 separate cartons of Clarence Court Burford Browns in the kitchen pantry, which were bought on the same day. Both still in date. I found, to my horror, one rotten egg in EACH carton. There were no signs of cracks or leaks, the eggs were all intact. But 2 eggs (in different cartons) were very obviously rotten when I cracked them open - watery, rancid, brown.

I have never experienced this in my life. Has anyone else noticed dodgy eggs recently??

Did you take them back?

There was a post recently about customers swapping premium brand eggs over with cheepies (sorry).

with that brand of eggs you could tell straight away if they had been swapped by the colour of the shells and the size.

Also it would be difficult to transport the rotten egg to the supermarket for a refund I would imagine 🐣

to OP no, thankfully I haven’t experienced this, not nice for you, rotten eggs have a terrible smell
