Any suggestions please for nutritious ready to go snacks for kids - or if not fully nutritious then at least low sugar and with a bit of substance? My daughter (3) often comes in from nursery hungry and raging so we grab something from the fridge, like raspberries, cheese nibbles whatever. But also things like chocolate and biscuits, so we’re wanting to find some more options which are better for her but also ready to grab when she’s on or past the brink. Realistically I don’t have time to cook homemade oat bars etc.

We tend to do toast, hummus, veggies. Cold eggy bread, hot cross bun and cheese. Or I make a little snack picnic. I had pesto pasta for lunch whilst she was out so she's got a small amount of that, some cucumber and some leftover banana from breakfast.

These are all good. My toddler nephew likes boiled eggs and toast, hot or cold, and watermelon chopped up. Crumpets, toast, Warburtons thins. All with spreads (jam, marmite, peanut butter).

We do toast, fruit, cereal, Greek yoghurt, bit of cooked chicken, boiled eggs (just the white bits!)

I'm not sure of your timings and when she comes home but I read this idea on here a while back and thought it was great!
This family said they now eat the main meal early when kids get in from school/ nursery and because DC so hungry they eat everything. Then they have a snack a bit later before bed like fruit or oatcakes.
Apparently it also freed up a lot more time in the evening as the mum wasn't clearing up late.
obviously it depends on your routine but I thought it was a good idea x

Adapt to her timetable: feed the full meal you would have fed later on and let her snack when you would have fed her.

I often did a quick scrambled egg or beans on/next to toast.

Any veg sticks she likes with a few bread sticks and a pre-made dip or hummus that you could grab easily.

DD also loved cold pasta at that age so either leftovers from a previous night's dinner or I'd make a bit to last a few days.

To be fair, any leftover pasta, risotto etc. that can be chucked in the microwave for a couple of minutes works well. Or soup.

Oat cakes with crackers or cream cheese and some grapes worked well.

M&S have upf free cheese straws that are delicious!

Even a weetabix or similar would work well. DD always liked it with a few raisins sprinkled over (well, she's 7 and still likes this!)

My DC get a snack plate out of school. It usually has pumpkin seeds, mixed nuts, a few breadsticks, berries and another form of fruit. I also make protein balls and freeze them. If you get one out in the morning and pop it on the side then it's fine by the time they get back.

Aww, I remember health after nursery snacks! Now at high school it’s a packet of crisps and a moan about how long tea will be 🤣

fruit and yoghurt is always a winner as is apple slices and peanut butter dip!
