I enjoyed the Christmas review thread so much that I figured I’d see if anyone else has had an M & S dinner tonight!

Bonus points for photos.

That is really bad! Have they offered you a voucher or anything to say 'sorry'?

They offered me a refund.

@Nereidd

Did you mean dauphinois potatoes when you wrote dolphin nose? :)) Just had some fun googling them thinking I’d missed out on something!!

Haha yes I did, sorry for the confusion 😂 It's what we fondly refer to them as!

I treated myself to Tesco finest salmon en croute, sweet potato fries and the peas and broccoli thing.

Highly recommend.

Dessert: sharing bag of Buttons

NotDarkGothicMama · 14/02/2026 20:37

DH cooked flower dim sum for starters, followed by peppercorn steak, creamed spinach, tenderstem broccoli and chips. Very nice. Will have cheesecake once the DC have gone to bed.

I'm slightly disappointed by the lack of innuendo. We usually snigger over the Love Sausage but they'd sold out yesterday. DH did buy me a chocolate "you tickle my pickle" a couple of weeks ago though.

We also split the food into multiple meals so for lunch today we had the: Collection Pork and Ham Hock Terrine with home baked bread (super - so tasty and lovely little dish x 2 which I will be serving my home grown and cured olives in ( all 90ish of them 😀)
Dinner was Collection British Chicken Breast Paupiettes with Collection Rosemary and Sea Salt Hasselback Potatoes (served with tenderstem broccoli - not homegrown) This was delicious - juicy chicken with a lovely stuffing.
We still have Collection Chocolate and Caramel Millionaires Torte and
M&S Classics Malbec 75cl - reviews to follow on those and probably not tonight,...
Exceptional value for £25.
As for the mis-labeling good M&S acknowledged it, but not ideal it happened. Must have made you feel a bit sick.

Had the smoked salmon/ prawn starter- small portion but it was enough. Steak and triple cooked chips, very good, the steak was so tender. Heart dessert- very rich and delicious. Non alcoholic fizz. Really enjoyed the whole meal

Dolphin nose potatoes don't go well with spaghetti bollock-naked, but are fine with beef burglars.

😂

springawakeningss · 14/02/2026 21:20

We got there late today so had the normal dine in menu. Lasagne and chips with vanilla cheesecake.. just had it and I'm stuffed 🐷

pteromum · 14/02/2026 21:26

Couldn’t be bothered to drive an extra half hour to marks so got the Sainsbury’s one in shop.

£18
Camembert

bottle of Prosecco.
two sirloin steaks.
triple cooked chips.

profiteroles

we had the starter for lunch with soup.

dh had one steak tonight with the chips, kids ate some of those.

good value for the price.

always love the marks one but just didn’t get that far today

Clevs · 14/02/2026 21:41

We had the Asda one for £12:
Scotch eggs (2)
Lasagne
Dauphinoise potatoes
Cauliflower cheese
Cherry & chocolate tarts (2)
Bottle of wine

The cauliflower cheese is still in the fridge for another day. The rest of the food was split three ways as our 7 year old wanted to share it but it was more than enough even split three ways.

Great value.

Had the prawn and salmon starter. Wagu pie with creamed spinach ( and own mashed potatoes) and the lemon possets ( added raspberries) with the cremant, really lovely and very good for £25.

firstofallimadelight · 14/02/2026 21:46

We had-
scallops - delicious
steak and chips with peppercorn sauce- lovely but steak on the small side. Loads of chips though and we bought asparagus and focaccia to accompany it
Lemon posset - nice
prosecco - great

overall fab value and easy to make

Lindy2 · 14/02/2026 22:13

We couldn't decide what to get so had 1 meal yesterday as our meal for Friday "take away" night. We had another one tonight for Valentine's.

Yesterday was;

  • smoked salmon and prawn starter - small but with a lovely flavour.
  • Beef Wellington - Nice but not quite as special as I hoped and the pastry would not be parted from the grease proof paper it said to cook it on. The gravy was very good though.
  • Broccoli and asparagus - good. The butter it is fried in gave it a lovely flavour.
  • Caramel profiteroles - very nice and light and moreish.

Tonight was;

  • gratin scallops starter - delicious
  • Chicken paupettes - very nice. Tender with a nice flavour.
  • Delphinous potatoes - delicious
  • chocolate and pistachio puddings - very good. Very creamy but not too sweet.

We went for the pink prosecco both times.

I enjoyed both meals. I am not ridden with guilt that we had 2 and that we ate all 3 courses, plus the side and the booze during one meal.

I'd happily try a third tomorrow but I think they're probably sold out and I'm supposed to be calorie counting. That will resume on Monday.

Wonderknicks · 14/02/2026 22:23

Camembert & focaccia starter - nice but far too much bread
Salmon & prawn en croute & green veg - v nice
Chocolate pistachio bombs - excellent

ARunByFruiting · 14/02/2026 22:24

The ham hock pate thingy was lovely, the sirloin was very thin though and quite fatty/grisly so not much meat going on there.

nannyl · 14/02/2026 22:25

We had the prawn salmon thing in oyster shell. It was nice (small portion but tastey)

Sirloin steak with dauphiniose potatoes. (and green beans and mushrooms) VERY nice.

Chocolate pistachio bomb things were seriously good. Different but very nice indeed.

Wine not opened as DH is on antibiotics.

Very happy with tonights dinner
