Best (non plastic?) containers for freezing

I am big fan of making extra/batch cooking so we have quick and easy portions for the freezer. I usually use left over take away or soup pots for this. But, I find that 1- after a while they get quite flimsy 2- I always seem to have the wrong bloody lids 3- they never stack right and waste freezer space and 4- I would really like to move away from using plastic.
What do other people use?

Sort of not answering your question - but I have some excellent (modestly priced) plastic containers from Amazon I bought in bulk because I thought they would be single use/a few uses at best. However, not quite sure what I'm going to do with them all as they seem mortal and so haven't been able to get through that many. They stack well, both when empty in the cupboard and the freezer, lids lock tight and as well as being freezable (obviously), they will can go in the microwave. And the lids don't do that annoying thing of going brittle and snapping/cracking

I’m switching to Pyrex and have found them excellent. I also have about a dozen divided silicon containers which will store two portions in squares. I freeze them, then take them out of the container and wrap in clingfilm for longer term.

I have some glass containers with plastic lids from IKEA in various sizes. Also you can freeze in regular glass jars: I often store leftover gravy in an old jam jar for example. I sometimes store soup in a Kilner jar. They survive freezing; you just want to leave a small gap at the top to accomodate the liquid expanding.

Freezing in jars is very handy to know, I have started storing in jars but would not have thought about freezing

That's true, we have some of those too. Can you put them in the freezer though? I wasn't sure.

We have the glass containers from Ikea they slightly stack together but they don't nest due to the straight ish sides. We use the plastic clip on lids as both of them can go into the freezer. The plastic lids also fit the metal containers, again freezer safe but the bamboo lids cannot go in the dishwasher and not microwavable so that discounts them for us although they are much prettier than the plastic lids.

I've got loads of glass containers with plastic lids. Some are Pyrex, some are from ALDI. The pyrex lids are dishwasher safe but not microwave safe, the ALDI lids are microwave safe but not dishwasher safe. So they each have pros and cons.

I like the foldable silicone containers (plastic lids, but you can take those off an use a different cover for microwaving) but they are very variable in terms of sturdiness. If they don't have a good solid rim it's very hard to snap the lid on.

The IKEA ones were good but have been discontinued, so I'm on the lookout for an alternative brand. You might find a few IKEA ones still lurking if you're lucky with your local branch.
