I use 40g of oats, vanilla yoghurt and frozen fruit which all go in together and in the fridge. If I was using fresh fruit I would probably add some milk or water to the oats and yogurt. I would add the fresh fruit in the morning.

I do 25g oats, 10g chia seeds and cover that in water (in an old jam jar) leave overnight. Then in the morning add 35g 10% fat Greek yogurt, 7g honey and some blueberries and 15g mixed seeds.

equal amounts oats and liquid

I do 1/2 cup (porridge or jumbo oats) 1/4 milk + 1/4 water

I add a tablespoon of yogurt if I feel like I want it more creamy in the mornings, but it does give it a sour taste, which I don't like with cinnamon.

My go to recipe:
1/2 cup jumbo oats
1/4 milk
1/4 water
1 banana chopped up
Cinnamon
Tiny bit salt

Mix all this night before (push banana chunks under the liquid so it doesnt turn brown.

Sometimes I add the banana in the morning.
Sometimes I add a tiny bit of granola for texture also.
jumbo oats are much more chewy and less creamy. Porridge oats is more the classic overnight oats.

Its changed my life having this for breakfast every morning. No thinking, great digestion, healthy, filling etc

I use a similar amount oats to fat free Greek (or Greek style) yoghurt, usually leaning a bit more on the yoghurt. If the fruit is dried or frozen, I'll add it when I make it; if fresh, I'll add it in and stir in the morning.

I typically also add a big spoonful of chia seeds plus at least one other kind of seeds or nuts and a scoop of protein powder when making it (which is why I lean more on the yoghurt which absorbs up both the oats and the protein powder). I have one of those tupperware cereal bowls with a lid so I wash it out and make it when I get home from work, then grab it when I'm heading out in the morning.

I love adding frozen cherries as it goes in the fridge, by the morning they are thawed and the yogurt etc is pink and juice cherry flavoured and so yummy.

One of my favourites is oats mixed with grated apple, sprinkle of cinnamon, Greek yogurt, blueberries and a bit of agave nectar.

40g oats
5g chia seeds
15g sultanas
mix through with milk
add 3 big spoons of natural yogurt, frozen berries and mix through.
add more milk if it’s too thick

Forgottenmyphone · 11/01/2026 13:38

Use equal parts liquid and oats, or approx 100ml milk for 50g oats. Rolled oats work best.
Chia seeds absorb a lot of liquid and create a thicker, slightly tapioca-like texture. Add them the night before. You can also add sweeteners (maple syrup, honey), vanilla extract, or spices like cinnamon the night before. Add toppings like fruit, nuts or nut butters right before serving to keep their texture and freshness.

I do this more or less but use the bottles of kefir for drinking so I don't need milk.

I chuck 40g oats in a mason jar with:
A splash of milk
3 tbsp Greek yoghurt
Handful of frozen fruit
tablespoon of chia
tablespoon mixed seeds/nuts
teaspoon honey if I want it
sprinkle of cinnamon if wanted

Mix together, leave overnight.

It sounds odd but I really like carrot cake overnight oats - ground ginger & cinnamon and a grated carrot in with the oats and milk. I think the recipe I used was from Madeleine Shaw.
