Recommend your garlic press

Looking for a new garlic press. Budget not particularly an issue but ideally under £30, and no plastic parts.

Currently eyeing up either the Kuhn Rikon or OXO Good Grips versions but would be very grateful if you have another type that you rate & can share.

(Yes, I’m aware I can chop and mince garlic with a knife. If that works for you, great! However, I want a garlic press).

I like my Zyliss garlic press - I've had it about 5 years. I can press the cloves, 1 or 2 at a time, straight into the pan, then just scrape out the skins and any residue and pop it in the dishwasher. This is it, which I think I got from Lakeland

I have a Zyliss garlic press as well. I think it must be at least 20 years old!

OXO good grips, easy to clean/goes in dishwasher.

I had Zyliss for about 15 year, never loved it, got an OXO good grips which I way prefer and cleaning is easier but rate the Ikea one too, after isong it on a holiday house.

Another vote for Ikea. I also bought one for my mum who phoned me up the first time she used it to tell me how great it was.

I just checked mine as I really like it. It’s the OXO one mentioned by a couple of other posters. Easy to use and clean.

CleanForce™ Garlic Press | Joseph Joseph UK

This powerful garlic press crushes cloves with ease and features a wiper blade and a handy scraping tool for easy cleaning.

I haven't had a garlic press for years.

I use a small handheld grater and then just put it straight into the dishwasher.

It is fine enough for garlic, ginger, nutmeg and parmesan, but not for citrus zesting. It's small and flat and good natured so lives happily in the utensil drawer.

Another vote for this zyliss one. Easily the best I've ever had.
