Meat and fish cooking in your kitchen vs the Masterchef kitchen

They're always moaning that the meat or fish is 'overcooked'

There are times when its quite obviously dry which isnt pleasant but it seems they're never happy unless its still walking around the plate

I dont know one person who cooks like this, including myself. I dont serve or cook dry meat or fish but its not as rare as on this programme

Other cooking shows are similar.

Lots of people don't rest their meat/fish, if your fish is cooked through in the pan it's already overcooked.

I definitely overcook meat and fish at home. Not intentionally! I’m a good cook and take a lot of care in my cooking, but sometimes there is an emergency and I dealing with children fighting or the dog has run off chasing a deer or the Amazon guy appears in the middle of it all.

Also, have you ever cooked in a competition? I have, nothing as stressful as Masterchef, but under pressure, you screw stuff up. Filming also takes allll day. I bet a lot of that stuff sits around a bit.

I like my beef very rare and fish under rather than over so I agree with the judges
