Low UPF snack ideas and recipes

I want to reduce the amount of ultra processed food my family eats. It’s difficult to find ready made versions, and the ones I have found are pricey.

Has anyone got any simple recipes I could try out as a beginner? I’m pretty handy in the kitchen but I don’t often make puddings or biscuits etc.

Thank you

Following as we're also trying to eat less UPF. I find flapjacks and banana bread are super easy to fill with goodness and keep rubbish at bay. Our goal is to replace rather than remove options 👌🏻

Snacks we tend to have are,
Pop your own popcorn. It is just oil and corn which you can salt.
Oatcakes with cottage cheese
Greek yogurt with frozen berries
Cubes of cheese with some olives
Hard boiled eggs
Homemade quiche or tortilla
Soup
Houmous and veg
Mixed unsalted nuts
All veg and fruit
Most ready salted crisps are Low UPF
Cooked chicken.

Adding to the above list, which is really good!

babybel - only have 4 ingredients
apple slices & peanut (or any other nut) butter - check for 100% peanuts
edamame beans - bit of salt/soy/chilli
cashews & chunks of cheddar
Jasons sourdough bread has minimal ingredients too

Carrot cake muffins.
Banana bread.
Savoury muffins with spinach, peppers and onions.
Cheese and spring onions scones.
Cinnamon buns.
Apple and rhubarb crumble.
Focaccia.
Polenta chips.
Gluten free cherry almond cookies. Just ground almonds, butter, sugar, baking powder, vanilla and an egg. With a blob of cherry jam in the middle. My coeliac friend loves these and so does everyone! (Sorry DK measures but chatGPT will know! )
Popcorn.
Home made cheese twists.
Sausage rolls, veggie or meat ones.
Mini meringues with fruit and cream or mascrapone.
Spinach and feta pies or pancakes.

The trick is to get out of the habit of regular snacking - wholesome meals keep you fuller for longer. It’s 20 years since I stopped buying of making snacks on a regular basis and the whole family (kids were primary school age) started eating meals better

Is dark chocolate upf? If so chickpea fudge is fab. Just process drained chickpeas until super smooth then add equal weight of melted dark chocolate, I use salted dark chocolate and just set in the fridge
