Waffle maker - for teenager

On the Christmas bargain thread there was a mini 1 person waffle maker on offer, that said it may be too small

DS loves waffles but the frozen ones never seem that great compared to the freshly made ones (but like pancakes)

So I'm looking for recommendations for a smallish maker (1 or 2?waffle size) that's easy to use and more importantly clean and store - don't want a bigger one as only he would be eating the waffles - also any best recipes for the batter - Nigella ?

we have this one and it’s great. Just google a recipe for the batter

I THINK ours is the Dash heart shaped one here's an amazon link but we got ours in a sub branded one from Urban Outfitters!! It's so cute and makes really good waffles. I still sometimes think about hauling it out when I'm making waffles, even though it's a nightmare to use if you want to make waffles for lots of people. It just makes better tasting waffles somehow than our Lakeland 4 waffle one. I THINK because it gets a lot hotter.

We do use the Dash waffle recipe still though!

I make a lot of waffles but find it easier to make a batch and freeze the surplus and then stick them in the toaster straight from freezer, very handy rather than having to start from scratch every time. Just be sure not to overcook them in waffle maker, slightly paler than you'd like so that the toaster finishes the job.

We had a fantstic waffle maker for about £10 from Argos, Cookworks brand. We’ve had much pricier ones since from Cusineart and Breville, which are nowhere near as good.

For batter you need a medium sized mug flour, 1
egg and half mug milk, pinch of salt and teaspoon sugar. Ideally let it sit for half an hour or more.
