I make about 3 pots of soup weekly, all different kinds but I love something hearty with a bit of a kick. Mulligatawny is one I've yet to make, I used to love the tinned version but now not so much. Does anyone have a delicious tried and tested version?

I've made this, forgotten how good it is ! I do use more chicken to make it a proper meal.
It's also an interesting article.

Thank you. Article really interesting. I look forward to trying it. And I have a leftover lamb leg in the fridge so it's going to be lamb version!

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends thank you ! That seems very different but much simpler than the recipe I was considering!
this one

I also looked at the hairy bikers, Delia and so many others but I'll definitely be trialing them all, starting with yours!

Mulligatawny Soup, a very Anglo Indian Dish of the British Raj

Mulligatawny Soup recipe, hot and sour, it dates back to the days of the British Raj, and is the perfect cold weather soup; light, yet remarkably hearty.

I made this one with my leftover lamb leg all boiled up. It was great but it did take longer to prep than I was expecting. Usually when I make soup it's very quick! (apart from making the broth). I also didn't have madras curry powder so used a different powder I have and it was very spicy! Unblocked my sinus though and DH loved it. We put some extra rice in it and that helped. Flavours are great.

Felicity Cloake is great with her ‘How to make perfect’ series. I often turn to her when I’m looking to make a classic dish I don’t already have a good recipe for.
