Eat or bin?

DH did lots of batch cooking and froze it.

Sunday I took a beef curry out for Mondays tea. It was put straight into the fridge to thaw. We ended up not fancying it last night - DH thinks it's ok to heat up for tonight's tea but I'm not sure?

Eat or bin?

I would eat it as it has been in the fridge but would ensure it was piping hot.

chattyness · 09/09/2025 14:43

It will be absolutely fine, just make sure it's piping hot

periperimeno · 09/09/2025 15:30

Thankyou 😊

Eat.

dementedpixie · 09/09/2025 15:33

It takes ages to defrost in the fridge so id say it was fine for tonight.

viques · 09/09/2025 15:37

It will be fine. Enjoy.

TheGodsOfTheCopybookHeadings · 09/09/2025 15:38

It's absolutely fine.

LunaDeBallona · 09/09/2025 16:05

Agree. It will be absolutely fine.
There’s no reason why you couldn’t re freeze it either - the ‘ mustn’t re freeze defrosted food is - on the whole- utter rubbish, propagated by the food industry to make us throw out food and buy more.
My dad always told me that and it was a prawn that made me realise he was right.
North Atlantic prawns are generally cooked and frozen at sea.
Then they go to a processing factory where they are repackaged, defrosted and sent to Tesco/Waitrose etc.
It says on the packaging ‘ Previously frozen’ - but also has instructions on how to refreeze them!!!
If it’s safe to re freeze a cooked prawn I’m pretty sure no one will die from eating a re frozen beef dish. Just as long as it’s properly heated up everyone will be fine.
HTH.

Eat.

DramaAlpaca · 09/09/2025 16:07

Monday was yesterday, right? It'll be perfectly fine. Eat!

user2848502016 · 09/09/2025 16:13

Eat, I wouldn’t even question it

That's crazy, I'd never re freeze something that had previously been frozen!

Like you say if it's safe to do it with Prawns then surely it's ok with anything else.
