Rump steak

I'm hoping someone can give me some tips. I've got a delivery booked and I ordered sirloin steaks as a treat ,but they have replaced with rump steaks.
I'm ok with cooking sirloin and not sure if a silly question but does rump need cooking differently?
Thanks

I cook them both the same - in fact rarely buy sirloin now as prefer rump, or rib-eye, as they have more flavour.

I'd bash the rump and marinade it for a few hours in oil, garlic, herbs etc. make it pretty rare else it can be stringy and chewy.
I hope they refunded you the difference?

Thankyou both of you ! Yes refunded me the difference.

Rump is only trickier because it can often be a bit chunkier which I think makes it harder to cook at home. But the basic of hot pan, bit of bastig etc, are the same.

The same but I do barely cook mine, like it basically raw

Just to let you know I did cook.it the same and yes did taste better or maybe I took more care as was worried about ruining it !

I prefer rump. Don’t bash or marinade. Hot pan seasoned and rare or just medium and let rest for 10 mins in a warm side oven. Resting is crucial.

Agree, we often get it as it's cheaper and tastes better. Resting is totally key.
