FollowIng a general chat about the Thermomix, thought it would be interesting to share some of our favourite recipes from Cookidoo or share other ways we have used our Thermomix to create tasty meals!

My personal favourites are the soups, and the two I always go back to is the Irish Potato Soup (basically creamy bacon and potato soup) or the Pea and Mint soup. Both absolutely delicious!

Have also found a few lovely sauces that I have difficulty making myself on the hob. The mushroom and white wine sauce is great for rice or pasta dishes.

Would love to hear any more of your Thermomix tried and tested recipes!

I just tried to cook this recipe and wasn't allowed !! - turns out it's TM7 only which annoyed me ! As surely it can be adapted (does anyone know if the TM7 does something the TM6 doesn't - seems as annoying as when newer iPhones need a different charger etc !

SparklyBrickViper · 02/07/2025 13:27

If you feed in the recipe to chat gpt it will convert into a Thermomix version for you. I assume if you say TM6 it will give you a workable version.

TM7 has open cooking so might it be that?
I haven’t noticed any restrictions to my usage (tM6 ).

You have to manually enter it.

or find it online and cut and paste.

Works for any recipe.

Ah ok . Thank you so much ! I'm improvising for the moment by frying beef instead for open cooking but Cookidoo won't let me see how long for . I hope they don't do too many recipes just for TM7s !!

Another recommendation especially if you GYO courgettes!

The courgette fritters are delicious.

Check out this delicious recipe I found on Cookidoo®: Mediterranean Courgette Fritters and Salsa

Which recipe was that?

Schoolrefusa · 13/07/2025 02:16

Dapperdame it was Chinese-style beef stew. It was really good and I'd make it again even having to cook it the old fashioned way in a frying pan !

The TM7 has open cooking which the TM6 doesn’t. There’s almost 3hrs of open cooking in that recipe so I guess that’s why it doesn’t show up on the TM6.

Some of our favourites: Hoisin pulled pork with pineapple chutney, lamb meatballs with pea hummus and red cabbage, Asian salad, paella, banana chocolate ice cream (I adapt an avocado one - it’s basically frozen bananas mixed with cacao and peanut butter - kids love it and it has no nasties in).

We love & have cooked multiple times:

  • Asian Chopped Salad
  • Beef & Bean Enchiladas
  • Seeded Sheet Crackers
  • Mexican Quinoa Salad
  • Angela’s Sticky Tea Bread
  • Oaty Ginger Crunch
  • Butternut and Bacon Macaroni Cheese
  • Orzo Pasta with Chicken & Pesto
  • Tuscan Bean Soup
  • Kid Friendly Butter Chicken

I cook Pasta with Vegetable Ragu [tried to attach a link but Mumsnet site no likey] about once a week. The recipe says 1 clove of garlic - who puts just one clove of garlic in? 😂- but I use 3-4. I use a whole 500g carton of passata rather than stick to 400g, you can bung a bit more basil in than 5 leaves, and at the end I blitz it for 10 seconds speed 5 to smooth it out a touch.
I also don't tend to cook the pasta in the thermo at the end, as I like to cook the sauce separately and cook enough pasta for me and DC. It's a lovely, versatile tomato sauce with 'hidden' veggies; I've used it as a pizza topping, as a covering for chicken to bake in the oven etc

My Thermomix arrived yesterday (woohoo) and the first thing I did was go off piste to make a pumpkin puree and a pumpkin canele batter, but since then I’ve used Cookidoo to make the Irish potato soup, the Portuguese water bread, meringue, and milkshakes.

For all those that mentioned recipe conversion. This is a fairly new amd seemingly good app. Converts recipes from text, pics or link. Pretty handy to use. Five recipes free a month too, see link:
