Cooking chicken - help

I'm not the best cook in the world although I really do try. I always find with roast chicken it comes out dry, so I tend to get the "roast in the bag" rotisserie chicken from Tesco.

I got one for today but when unpacking the shopping my little one has pulled the chicken out of the bottom of the pram and it's landed upside down, so now the juices that are normally in the roasting tray are everywhere, all over the bag.

I'm not sure what's the best way to cook it now. Do I just put it in as is and hope for the best? Or shall I take it out of the bag, try and put the liquid back in the tray and cook without the bag? But then I'm guessing the cooking times on the bag won't be accurate.

Thanks and sorry if this is a daft question!

It's fine, just use it as instructed on the bag, it will cook just as well.

Sorry, do you mean keep in in the bag? Or take it out?

Keep it in the bag and do what you normally do - more juice will come out from the bird itself it will be fine

Yeah sorry that was really unclear! Cook in bag as usual following the instructions.

**Never mind, it will make little difference, just me overcomplicating things!

I find that if you leave it upside for a couple of minutes then flip it over really quickly, a lot of juice ends up on the chicken or in the tray. It'll be fine either way.

Thank you! Yes I do normally put it on a baking tray anyway, I guess I'll just need to be extra careful when opening the bag this time.

Yes I'd probably just cut the bag open and remove the chicken first, then gently tip up the bag to pour out the juices for gravy.

Ok slight update. Got the bag out the fridge to cook it and there's juice all over the fridge, the bag has a hole in.

I've checked the bottom of the pram (where I put it in the supermarket and walked home with) and it's dry, so I'm pretty sure the hole wasn't there when I bought the chicken at 12pm today. It must have been made when it was pulled out of the pram and dropped when we got home.

Is it still ok to eat?

I'd eat it, no problem. But I'm quite relaxed about these things.

It’ll be fine to eat and I’d just put the whole thing, bag and all, in a roasting tin, and perhaps foil over it as well to keep it sealed if that’s how you normally like to cook it.
And obviously wash the fridge down v well.
