Can I substitute rose wine for red wine?!

In the middle of making bolognese sauce but have just discovered I have no red wine. Do you think rose (can't work out how to do accents!) wine would work or best not to bother?

I'd shove it in anyway. It's more for the taste than the colour anyway. Add a bit more tomato puree than you would normally have done and you will be fine. Good luck.

yes, any wine will g=ive it flavour, but if you're using rose, you may as well use white imo.

NO NO don't.

The rose will be too sweet and more acid.

I never put wine in bolognese anyway, up the garlic content a tad to give more oooomph.

But please no, not rose.

Oh what to do. I must admit I was worried about the sweetness and acidity of rose.

Minky - I haven't got any white wine either. Just half a bottle of rose in the fridge.
