Grits Glycemic Index – Are They OK for Diabetics?

Hi all,
I’ve been trying to help a family member manage their blood sugar better and came across something interesting — grits. We often think of them as starchy and high-carb, but I was surprised to learn that the glycemic index of grits can vary depending on how they’re cooked.
While doing some research, I found this helpful article that breaks it down:

It gives some good insight into portion control, types of grits, and how they affect blood sugar. Just thought I’d share in case others are navigating similar dietary questions!
Would love to hear your thoughts — does anyone here use grits in a diabetes-friendly meal plan?

Clearly you have shares in grits. Sadly they’re not widely available in the UK. Gravel is though, and it’s the same pretty much.
