OverNight Oats - how far ahead do you make them?

I tried porridge oats a couple of times but I could not like them .(Syrup , cinnamon whatever . Nope)

Then my adult DD made some overnight oats and d'you know what , they are bloooming delicious !

There's no great effort apart from measure and mix so I don;t want to make a huge batch ....but how long will they sit in the fridge being edible ?

For clarity - she used oats (1 cup) Alpro (1 cup) soya greek yoghurt (half cup) chai seeds
She put peanut butter on hers I did apple .when we were dishing up .

Just make a batch u the night before ? Is that best ?

TIA

I make mine the night before and then make two extras. It’s great to have breakfast sorted!

I make them, e.g. Sunday night, for Mon, Tues and Wed morning. I make the oat/yoghurt/milk/chia seed base and add the fruit the night before (if frozen) or on the morning I'm eating it if fresh.

I use American cups to measure the ingredients and I mix it in each individual pot rather than in a big bowl which is then split in 3 (to save on washing up).

I usually make mine for 4 days or so at a go - so yummy it seems to always vanish a bit faster than expected. Though once forgot some and it was still fine on 6th day. Yogourt is already fermented which I suspect helps.

I soak my oats in the liquid (usually apple juice, sometimes milk) on a Sunday night and have enough to take me through to Thursday. I add the yogurt and fruit each morning.

Well it still tastes nice after a couple of days ( though I am not a fan of the Chai seeds

I might ask her to make the next batch in a shallow covered dish and she can put seeds in one half .

DD asked me to make her a batch of hot porridge oats a few months back , I dutifully measured , heated , stirred ......it was not nice ( I wasn't tempted to try it )

But this cold method is a completely different result !

I make mine for 3 days - I use jam jars, in each I put 0.5 cup of porridge oats (tesco basics) add 1tsp chia, 1tsp collagen, 1tsp flax, 0.5 tsp Creatine. 4/5 frozen cherries stir milk in and top with Fage 0% I love this breakfast as it’s so portable for work and a perfect vessel for whatever you want to add.

I do 5 days worth at a time, mon-fri. I use Greek yogurt though instead of milk as I hate the texture with milk.

40g oats
10g chia seeds if we have some in
10g collagen if we have some
200g skyr / greek yogurt
1 apple
1 banana
Handful of blueberries
2 strawberries
12 ish grapes

I love it and it stops me from snacking!

I make mine and dp’s together each morning after I’ve dished up the breakfast.

I use 1/2 cup per person, use boiling water only, then once cooled add kefir and put in fridge till morning. We have blueberries/raspberries, seeds, chopped banana and honey. It’s like… heavenly. Also it travels really well, so I put in glass Tupperware when working very early and eat in the car before going in :)
