What snack can I give me daughter to reduce sugar intake?

I want to reduce the amount of sugar my daughter eats, ideally overall but especially processed sugar.
Unfortunately she won't eat fruit, only bananas, occasionally melon and grapes, as it makes her mouth itch, apparently this is common in hay-fever sufferers.
So looking for ideas to give her as a snack to take to school and instead of a dessert after her meal. If I don't give her anything she just sneaks into the cupboard and gets something out. I would rather not buy snacks and am happy to make things myself just need some ideas.

home made oat bar.

2 ripe bananas mashed up
whisk in 2 eggs
add 2 cups porridge oats
25g chocolate chips or bashed up bar of chocolate
splash of vanilla.

Line a small baking tray and cook for 20 mins on 160 degrees fan oven. It makes 10 flat ish bars.

raw brownie bites.

1.5 cups walnuts blitzed in a food processor.
Add 1 cup medjool dates
1/3 cup cocoa powder
splash of water and blitz all together until, when pressed, the mix sticks together. Roll into 18 balls. Less than 200 calories per portion and, although dates are sugary, they have a low GI index and are full of fibre.

There’s a lady on TikTok that does lots of healthy home made snacks for her kids too, I will see if I can find her & will post a link.

Following this thread!

My youngest (3) has a poor diet and is extremely difficult with food. She hates meals but loves to graze on snacks, I've accepted this but it has meant lots of sugary snacks.

I have two older children who eat really well so it's a shock to the system!

In our house, mini cumcumber and squares if cheddar, crackers with butter and cheese, chopped up chicken with pepper.

For pudding we only have it once a week, I always offer Greek yoghurt and/or fruit but they often don’t choose it. If she has school dinners then she is probably having a pudding every day already.

Snack for school:
Rice cakes
Cheese biscuits
Babybel or similar

Instead of dessert:
Toast and honey
Crumpet
Yazoo ‘no added sugar’ flavoured milk
Rice Krispies and milk
Yogurt - you can get some ‘no added sugar’ kids yogurts. Yeo Valley and Petit Filous do them.

Don't then. Give her some cucumber, carrot, cheese, oat bars, try some other fruits/veg. If she's ACTUALLY hungry she'll eat. If she's in fact just bored, she won't.

I don't see why we all feel the need to snack. If you're eating properly at mealtimes why fill the time in-between with snacks?

I agree that we don't really need as many snack as we think as a society but it doesn't always work like that, even as an adult, you still just feel like chocolate or crisps etc sometimes.
Also they get hungry at school as breakfast is at 7am and lunch not till 1pm. I do only give her fruit/crackers etc and if she's hungry then she'll have to eat it as you say which is why I've asked for ideas as it gets a bit repetitive.
