Does Nestle have some kind of patent on shredded wheat?

Or, has anyone seen shredded wheat made by anyone other than Nestle? The supermarkets do own-brand ones with the fruit in them etc. but don't seem to do the plain ones, big or bitesize. There's so little cereal out there without added salt or sugar it would be nice to find one that didn't make me feel guilty about supporting the evil empire...

what about porridge oats? or making your own muesli?

I do get oats but I was wondering specifically about Shredded Wheat. The supermarkets make own-brand versions of nearly every other branded cereal, it just seems vaguely sinister to me that shredded wheat is not among them.

Morrisons do their own I think.

Lidl own brand Crownfield do miniwheats in plain, apricot, and blueberry. I'm boycotting Nestlé so am really missing their large pillow ones. Even their own mini wheats don't taste the same as those.

I was wondering this myself last week. I love shredded wheat, but the large plain ones only. I refuse to give money to Nestlé.

We have some at the moment. Harvest Morn bitesize wheat shreds. Cant remember where they came from, possibly Aldi

Sainsburys doing shredded wheat with no filing.
