Switching over soon and need a new one anyway. Not paying £300 for Le Cruset and don’t want a scratchy bottom. Also wondering if there are any light weight options. Always done most of my cooking in a casserole so can’t live without one.

If you're worried about scratching, run your hand over the base to see if it smooth!

Most coatings would work. Either non stick or enamel would be fine.

Don’t want non stick Teflon type as it’s as bad as aluminium health wise.

Hi. Not what you were asking at all, but I moved to an induction hob last year and my SoniL recommended a silicone hob protector. I got mine from Amazon and it's amazing. It just sits on the hob and you cook through it. Very easy to clean and, of course, no damage to the hob.

@Bag0fYarn The Scoville casserole dish I linked to upthread is PFOA and flake free.

That stainless steel one looks interesting. Do you think it will differ at all to cooking with cast iron?

I have two of the pans in that range. They are easily 8 years old. They get used every day and look like new. Used on the induction with no problems. Don’t forget that with induction you can put a cloth under the pan and it still works.
