Pan recommendations?

We need to replace our saucepans and I was wondering if anyone has a set of pans they would recommend? The ones we have at the moment were quite an expensive brand but they haven't lasted well at all so I'm keen not to spend too much this time! Thanks

I like the Scoville pans. They’re often on offer in Asda. Not tried the whole range yet but the two I have are great.

I like these. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8435062

currently on offer but that ends soon.

I like the lid with drainage and it’s bottom is black which doesn’t show dirt easily!

We were gifted a full set of Prestige saucepans and pressure cooker as a wedding present 38 years ago, they look good and are still going strong.

Don’t know if they are the same quality today but we certainly got our money’s worth.

I wouldn't get non stick, they don't last as well and leak horrible chemicals.

Thanks all. Our current ones are non-stick and haven't lasted well at all so tempted to go for stainless steel or ceramic this time

I have Le Creuset - have had them over twenty years, although two were replaced free of charge after about ten years. I only have two plus a copycat smaller one. The two LC are Dutch Ovens that can go in the oven, and they only have short handles which I prefer. They're bloody heavy when full, but they are much easier to wash up than stainless steel - and I do wash them up whereas when I had stainless steel pans, they went in the dishwasher.

I didn't like stainless steel (apart from the fact they went in the dishwasher) because I couldn't stop things from catching on the bottom or sticking. That may have been me. For frying pans, I like carbon steel - more washing up.

Another vote for prestige pans I had my previous set as a wedding present also. I’ve given them to my daughter now. When we moved I needed induction hob compatible ones and wasn’t sure if they were. I’ve opted for some prestige ones again and they are just as good quality as the set I’d had for thirty years.

I have recently bought some from Sainsburys as they were on offer. I have this sauté pan plus a 30cm wok like one, a small frying pan and two saucepans (the 16 and 18cm) and am loving them. I am being careful with them and not using metal implements in them as some reviews mentioned they weren't that great, but so far so good.

Sauté pan

I also love my stainless steel pans from Procook. The non stick ones didn't last very well, but then again I may not have treated them the best, but the stainless steel ones are still great. Apart from the rivets holding the handles on. They are over 10 years old though.

John Lewis Everyday pans are good, in stainless steel (the milk pan and frying pan in the set are non-stick). I’m trying to treat the non-stick ones well but DH is not on board with my “no non-stick in the dishwasher” rule. I much prefer plain stainless, not least because they go straight in the dishwasher.

Thanks so much for all of the recommendations! I've done for stainless steel from procook, fingers crossed they last better than my old ones Grin

I have a Le Creuset casserole that I've had for years and it's brilliant, but yes it does weigh a ton!
