Healthy flapjacks?

Hi, I'm looking for the ultimate flapjack or energy bar type recipe that I can take to work for a snack that will keep me going until I get home for lunch which is usually mid afternoon.

Ideally, I would like something that is filling, has protein in it, not too much sugar although I'm happy to use some honey or maple syrup, and is not too calorific. Happy to stuff it full of seeds and nuts maybe some chopped fruit.

I tried making some yesterday but they just fell apart and ended up like granola! I have read that you can add flour to flapjacks to bind them but can't find a recipe that doesn't have loads of sugar.

Thanks!

Have a bigger breakfast that keeps you fuller for longer? You can't have an energy bar/flapjack and also want it to be low calorie - if you're tired you need the energy! Adding dried fruit/nuts are great but they aren't going to make anything low calorie.

This is a savoury bake that I make regularly, but it's not really like a flapjack so the name is slightly misleading. The pic is the recipe as it was given to me, I've since made adaptations, I use more seeds and less oats. I've also added marmite in the past, or dried chillies. I love it.

If you stuff it full of nuts and seeds, then it's going to be very calorific. Why not take a little pot of nuts, seeds, dried fruit and cheese cubes to snack on?

@Castlerigg that looks fabulous. How many does it make?

Hi all thanks, I do sometimes take babybels/nuts etc but I specifically would like a flapjack type thing, I do also have a decent breakfast but I still get hungry before I can have lunch (physical job and can't take a proper lunch break until at least 2pm). Also DH would like one as an alternative to the expensive bought ones he has (he buys the ones that are like pressed bars, Nakd type). I know it will be calorific but there's good calories and bad if you know what I mean - would just prefer it if the calories were from the ingredients and not from sugar. Thanks.

Highly calorific but melt equal parts of peanut butter and honey in a pan, remove from heat and add whatever you want oats etc. turn out into a baking tray and refrigerate. When cool, cut into slices

I used to make these for my dc www.healthylittlefoodies.com/cherry-bliss-balls/

@MrsSethGecko I cut it into ten or twelve. I use a rectangular tin that's about 20cm x 18 ish.

It is calorific, definitely, but it's also sugar free, gluten free (if you use GF oats), full of protein and fibre, and really filling and tasty. Honestly, the smell when it comes out of the oven is amazing.

Thanks that's more or less what I did yesterday but it all crumbled - more like granola!
