Me! Thinking of doing dry January but for chocolate. Finished eating all chocolate in house last night so far so good…

My problem is once I start I can’t stop!

It’s the sugar that’s addictive, the craving for chocolate is unreal.

there has been times when I’ve been close to tears, really craving the stuff and trying to stop myself from buying it.

since starting Mounjaro, it’s stopped the craving stone dead

If it’s chocolate like Twixxes, Twirls then it’s the sugar that is addictive.

Don’t buy them. Eat bigger meals, drink more water and have a ´healthy’ replacement ready for when you feel like snacking on chocolate (e.g. cut fruit / crudités in advance).

I thought I was addicted to chocolate, and aside going off the stuff when pregnant. I could eat tons of the stuff. However I've since discovered I'm dairy intolerant and after a couple of months of not eating any. I don't actually miss it as much as I thought I would and dairy free chocolate tastes shite IMO

I think it can become a sort of addiction. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes just over 12 months ago and needed to change my diet.I knew if I didn't have chocolate I would crave it so changed to the 75% dark chocolate. I only need one piece a day to satisfy my cravings and, if I do occasionally eat milk chocolate, find it too sweet. I do feel that it would be far too easy to be tempted again but the problems that diabetes can cause frightens me too much.

This is good advice. My problem is if I have chocolate in the house I have to eat it all so I can relax and no longer crave it. I can manage not buying it but need to be firmer about gifts!
I will investigate ready prepped alternatives and drinking more water is also one of my resolutions!

I still adore chocolate but only eat 90pc dark...with some flavoured 70pc occasionally

I weaned myself off the unhealthy stuff slowly .. by going 70 pc with seasalt etc... and then moved darker and darker and less and less sugar

Much less sugar in Montezuma than in Lindt ... and delicious flavours in M: cherry is my favourite

Best of all I now find the sweet stuff I loved far too sweet!!
