High protein low calorie meal ideas?

Hi,

I need to lose two stone! I'm sick of feeling uncomfortable and miserable. I have 3 young children so don't have much time, I always get stuck when it comes to meal ideas! It's like my brain can't think. As many suggestions for meal ideas would be great, particularly lunch time as that's when I get so lost and end up reaching for rubbish.

I had tempeh for tea tonight, it was delicious. It comes in a block, cut into slices and fry for 5 mins with seasoning- I used garlic paste and chilli powder. Had with steamed vegetables and lime pickle and mango chutney, was so good, healthy and easy.

I also love tofu, lentils, chickpeas & quinoa- all great protein sources. I like avocados too. I still eat rice, pasta etc but small portions and for jacket potatoes I have half and save the other half for the next day.

Honestly I would look at refining your existing meals to make them fit into a caloric deficit. Just tweaking portions and making some easy swaps will be more sustainable.

Brilliant advice, and also just smaller portions is good too. this is what I done and lost about 12kg. My go to meals would be cottage pie (low fat mince, and I mash my potatoes with cottage cheese for less calories/extra protein), lasagne (low fat mince, fresh egg lasagne sheets and low calorie white sauce), or carbonara (bacon medallions, and low calorie pasta).

I make a kind of frittata but omit potatoes and stir cottage cheese in with the eggs. Then add whatever veg and chicken or bacon then bake. (Grate cheese over the top before baking if you like). It's nice warm but works equally well as a cold lunch and keeps well in the fridge.

Skinny food co does the low calorie penne pasta, also do high protein pasta (but higher in calories).
I have to admit that I'm lazy and don't make my own white sauce 🙈 I use dolmio light creamy white sauce

Homemade soup for lunch is my favourite. Veg soup with a chicken or ham sandwich on the side especially.
Omelettes can be a good balanced fast lunch too.

I'm doing a slow cooked steak for dinner tomorrow night. Rump steak fried, add onions, red wine and half a low salt stock cube. Add whatever veg you want (i'll do about 100g of potatoes, mashed, and some broccoli I think). Overall it'll be about 600 cals, haven't counted the broccoli & potatoes, but it'll be 60g of protein
