2 shaped cake tin

Has anyone used a 2 shaped cake tin and was it very tricky to use/get the cake out of in one piece? I'm thinking of making a cake for dd's bday and woulds like it to be shaped like a 2 but I'm worried that it will just snap when I come to get it out. Cake will be chocolate sponge if that makes a difference.

you can hire them from kitchen shops and they sort of unwrap from the cake so you don't have to lift it

i remember there was a shop in muswell hill you could hire them from

If you're using a tin, it's worth getting some non-stick spray (lakeland do one)

Or, if you're having trouble finding a tin, you could bake a big sheet of sponge in a large deep baking tray, and make yourself a number 2 template, and cut it out of the sponge sheet. Use all your leftover bits for trifle, or just eat them (well, i would!)

The shop in Muswell Hill is called The Scullery.

Thanks.

I've ordered one from decuisine website but I think I may have left it too late to get here and make the cake in a week.

Any ideas for how to decorate? The only cake I've ever iced before was a Xmas cake.
