Has anyone got a stand mixer and doesnt use it? Occasional baker - is it worth it?

I wouldnt call myself a baker but I want to do the odd thing. I have an electric whisk which actually has a dough hook type thing, just the one, not sure how that would work, I think my arm would go flying around.

The things Ive cooked so far have just been things melted down in saucepans and then mixed with dry or just all whisked together with my whisk.

Im tempted by these stand mixers but not sure if I would use it enough to justify it. I dont really want to do dough or pastry I think, but then I havent before

I dont know if Im tempted because they sort of look nice. And at the same time Im trying to declutter and not have so much stuff, particularly that I dont use

And I'd only be looking at spending about 50 quid or so anyway, or about 80odd perhaps. Cheap.

I use a hand mixer but it has 2 different sets of whisks to attach to it. Then I can just tidy them away after use

I have a kitchen aid mixer- don’t use it much but it looks gorgeous! Handy when making a Christmas cake/batch baking though 😊

I've got a Kenwood Chef, probably about twenty years old now. When I used to cook meals for six regularly it got a lot of use. Now there are usually only two of us it gets used much, much less. Pastry gets made in the food processor and small amounts of cream, etc are whipped with the whisk attachment on the stick blender.
However at this time of year I wouldn't be without it. In the last few weeks it has mixed three Christmas cakes, four Christmas puddings and banana loaves. I will be mixing another Christmas cake this week and four more Christmas puddings for Christmas presents.

I have a kitchenaid stand mixer and I love it, I've had it for 10 years and it's still as good as new. If it spontaneously broke I would replace it in a heartbeat. However, I was an enthusiastic home-baker before getting one so knew I would use it a lot. It does make cakes, cookies, buttercreams, traybakes... an absolute doddle, but you can do all of these with an electric hand whisk for m=not much more work or even wooden spoon and elbow grease, so unless you do a fair bit or want to start making bread then it may not be worth the outlay.

I'd only be looking at spending about 50 quid or so anyway, or about 80odd perhaps. Cheap.

Also, how are you getting it so cheap? Do you have a friend selling their one cheap, so it's a decent mixer but a great discount? Or is it just a very cheap one? I would much prefer to spend £50-£80 on decent electric hand whisk, good electric scales, cake tins, mixing bowl (ideally stainless steel so it is heatproof and dishwasher safe), and rubber spatula, and probably still have some change, than a shitty stand mixer.

Well I had my eye on this, it might be a shitty mixer though for all I know (and what would I know!). I have all the other things already
