I gave 10 children 14 adults coming to a late afternoon tea before a Christmas light walk .Do you think it will be ok to make a big roasting trays of cottage pie & just serve with baked beans or peas as veg choice .Want something I can make sday before and have 2 celiacs in group?

Sounds good! Make sure you check the stock cubes etc are celiac friendly. I'd do beans and peas, and make sure you have bread and butter around as a backup for picky eaters :)

I'd be happy with cottage pie. I'd go for peas but my OH would definitely prefer beans so sounds perfect.

I also love buttered cabbage with cottage pie and 1 cabbage makes so much so could be another add on! I tend to steam the cabbage and then saute until any liquid evaporates them add lots of butter and white pepper. Could also fry off some bacon lardons in a pan and use that to fry off the cabbage and then stir the crispy bacon through once done.

Please do something fresh. So peas or carrots ..I would hate stoge with baked beans. I like cottage pie btw just I don't do baked beans and I like veg with my meals.

Maple/honey glazed carrots would be nice and christmassy as a veg and, like the Shepherds Pie can be eaten with just a fork (I'm assuming you can't seat 24!).

Are you putting carrots and peas in the pie? If you I'd do tender stem or savoy cabbage. Not more cabbage or peas and definitely not beans.
