Weirdo non-pregnant cravings

I have just sat down and ate a bowl full of shredded red cabbage. No dressing, no nothing.

I'm going to regret that later, but wtf? I was really hungry, I did rock climbing yesterday and running this morning. I'm recovering from an op a month ago, and my wound site may be infected, why on earth do I want red cabbage? (Also, my gut is a bit troubled. I somehow don't think this will help.)

Anyone else get weird food cravings?

I'm impressed. I get cravings for unhealthy things. I can honestly say, I have never craved salad.

NotQuiteCockney · 25/04/2008 11:19

But this isn't even salad!

Oh god, my fingers have gone blue from the cabbage. Ugh.

This is pretty normal for me, actually, I eat pomelos all the time, oh, and when peas are in season, I will buy a couple of pounds and shell and eat them.

PMSL

Oh, no, it's ok, I've had a babybel and a slice of carrot cake that DS2 ate all the icing off. That makes for a balanced lunch, right?

I will be so hungry later, between the rock climbing and the running. And god knows what will happen to my gut.

i crave occasionaly

brown bread and coleslaw (i HATE coleslaw at all other times)
spaghetti with salt (i never ever add salt to anything and it HAS to be spaghetti, no other pasta shape will do)

NotQuiteCockney · 25/04/2008 21:30

Ok, those are weird.

I like homemade coleslaw, and went through a habit, recently, after an op, of making, and eating giant batches of it. [nauseated]

Sometimes I get an uncontrollable urge to drink double cream! That's pretty grim, isn't it

NotQuiteCockney · 25/04/2008 22:46

Ok, that's gross.

I do have a smear on a finger sometimes, while cooking with it, although it sorta grosses me out.

I have been known to eat Marmite off a spoon too...

NotQuiteCockney · 26/04/2008 10:08

Oh ugh. I can't stand marmite, ever. [foreign]
