i seem to have spent the last 9 weeks living off microwave meals, pizza, crisps and choccy bars. im sure im getting scurvy.

does anyone have any recipe ideas for healthy lunches and snacks that can be cooked quickly, or in advance, and eaten one handed or very very quickly(clingy baby)

Honestly ready prepared veg that you steam in the microwave are expensive but easy to have when pushed for time/energy.
I also used to do double portions of meals whenevr I cooked and freeze one lot for later in the week

Dh bought Nigella 'Express' shortly after I had ds - I think he was worried about my crappy diet too! It's great for quick stuff. Also slow cookers are good too, for batch cooking etc.

salads, crudites, humous, pitta bread, frozen veg, pulses, all can be quickly prepared and eaten one-handed.

I used to peel a whole lots of carrots up and cut them into batons, and cucumbers and pepper, and put them in a container in the fridge, then whenever I needed a snack I'd grab a handful of them and munch away.

home made veg soup is good.

Easy to make (chop it up and chuck in pot).

And easy to reheat adn eat.

buy wraps, you can put pretty much anything into them, stuff em with veg, salad, protein of some sort, dressings, and wrap them up tight. Great food to eat one handed and on the go

great ideas, i'll get these written down tomorrow so i have them close to hand.

armadillo, we lived on lovely homemade soups after dd was born - that and frozen batches of bulk made mince (for cottage pie / lasagne / spag bol). love my freezer - it was a god send.

my tip for eating well with a little baby to look after is definitely cook simply and in bulk if you can.
