Milk Jelly

Does anyone know how to make milk jelly? DH says he used to have this as a child. Do you just make up a packet of jelly with milk instead of water? Is it part milk, part water or all milk? I've never even heard of milk jelly so haven't a clue!

I used to make a sort-of milk jelly, you melt the jelly bit in boiling water as usual, and let it cool a bit, then mix in a pot of yoghurt (plain or flavoured) and either milk or more water. I think it goes a bit funny, like solid yoghurt, and I don;t actually like it but the dc do.

I used to have this when I was a child too, but I'm not sure of the proportions - I think my mum used to melt the jelly in a little hot water & top up to a pint with cold milk.

Pannacotta is just a type of milk jelly albeit a posh type but it is essentially cream and vanilla and sugar set with gelatine.

My mum used to make it by whisking melted, cooled jelly with evaporated milk and let it set in the fridge. On posh occasions she would put sponge fingers and tinned fruit in the bottom of the dish, pour over half the jelly (before it's mixed with the milk), allow that to set and then put milk jelly on the top!

LOL at Carmenere. Love the notion that my grandma used to make me pannacotta! We were right posh
