tempted to use jars

i started weaning my 6mo at 4months and am getting a tad fed up with the pureeing lark as it seems to take up massive chunks of my day! - i use jars on days out etc and must admit DS seems to prefer these to my loviningly hand prpeared veggies. it's tempting to ditch the liquidiser and use jars instead (leaving me free to get on with my life!) but i was just wondering if anyone knows how nutririous these are and if DS will be missing out on vital nutrients because of my laziness?

you do what keeps you sane and happy and don't stress it

trust me .. it'll all fade into the distance in a couple of years anyway .. and then you'll go through it all again on the next child (if there's a next one)

I lovingly prepared home cooked food for our DS3 and he simply would not eat it. I tried and tried, different veg, differnet mix, texture, you name it I tried it and he would not eat it. For weeks this when on.

The first time I tried him on a jar he ate the lot. And then some more. I thought I see how much he'd eat and evetually I had to stop or he would have been sick....or explode!

After that I stuck to jars, even though I had about 20 little pots of homecooked stuff in the freezer. I defrosted it and gave it to the dog!!!

He's 15 months now and eatsnything. I was thinking at dinner the other day " Is this unusual that a 15 month old is eating curry?"

Don't worry about it.

Oh and Ds2 would only ever eat homecooked and that was a nightmare as I couldn't go out anywhere without bags full of stuff to feed him. And now he is the fussiest eater I have every know.

Emma - they're little buggers really aren't they!

It's very wierd that my two are the faddiest eaters on the planet when me and dh will eat absolutely anything....

i used jars with dd2. i didnt have a kitchen to call my own when i was weaning her, so jars where the only option. i had to make sure all items in them were food, and not fillers as she would projective vomit everywhere otherwise. She was also gluten/egg free for the same reason. i found asda did a good range of jars she could have (not cow and gate or hipp) but baby organix i belive.
