Panasonic bread maker

I've treated myself to the YR-2540 in an attempt to reduce the amount of highly processed bread my DCs eat. Excited to try it out.

Any tips or ideas on the most basic recipes to start with please... ultimately I want to master a decent white loaf and a granary. I'd like to give rolls a go eventually.

I use dove yeast. Works great.
Also, Manitoba flour. I'm on my second Panasonic but that's over 25 years and with daily use, so not bad. I haven't bought shop bread in decades

Help! I have a Panasonic that i bought on Facebook Marketplace and my loaves all come out too squishy/with no decent crust.
am i doing something wrong or is my bread maker a bit rubbish.

If you leave the loaf on the counter for the day, or, wrap a clean cloth/tea towel around it overnight, the outer crust will firm up. The more you let it 'air' the firmer the loaf will be. Having said that, our loaves only last two days max due to being scoffed 😂

I'm also on my second panasonic and echo everything that's been said.
I've also found that Lidl strong white bread flour is excellent (and much cheaper). Oddly enough, Aldi's is not very good, Tesco's OK.

Have you tried just doing the dough in the breadmaker and then cooking it in the oven. If you plan ahead you can have some dough ready when you are already using the oven for something else and bask in your own smugness.

We've had our bread maker for about three months now and love it. It's so quick and I love that it's so much healthier without all the additives. We have little children so we put less salt in too. The Allinsons country grain is delicious. DH loves it and is the one that usually sorts the bread out now. He's made some bread rolls and the pizza dough has been a success too. I'm inspired by the idea of making hot cross buns!
