Anyone here a meal-prepper?

My instagram pops up with people who prep say 4 lunches at a time abd just wondering if anyone here does that and cares to share any tips or good recipes that work/last well.

I keep reaching for junk / convenience foods and want to be healthier, increase protein and cut down on processed stuff, so thinking that this is the way to go.

I would only need a handful of different recipes I think as quite happy eating the same few things on rotation.

Also I can see that it would work well at lunchtime as I’m generally wfh alone or in the office so don’t have to worry about family meals, but extra brownie points if anyone can recommend how to do it for dinners too (though I guess that’s more like your standard batch cooking?).

Yeah I'm single and do it

Mostly for my evening meals. Generally make 5 portions and freeze 4 - anything really from cottage pie to beef stew to chicken curry

Lunches I tend to prep ingredients
So I'll have a tub each of
Egg mayo
Tuna with mayo, chopped peppers, red onion, sweetcorn, pickles
Roasted veg with halloumi or chopped bacon
Cooked shredded chicken
Berries
Grated cheese

Then salad leaf bags, sourdough, wraps etc etc

These are my favourite keep-in-the-fridge salads

Sesame peanut noodle salad https://www.nigella.com/recipes/sesame-peanut-noodles

Feta couscous salad https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/10minute-couscous-salad

I'm also interested in this, I've been looking at the meal prep king on Instagram, but I don't think I could be that commited. I'm mainly looking at lunches as I usually skip breakfast and end up eating rubbish. I'm prepping some minestrone soup tomorrow which will last a few days and think I'll season and roast a tray of chicken drumsticks later in the week. But like you I am unsure what else works well. I really don't fancy soggy salads etc which is what worries me with it being in the fridge a few days. There's a sub on Reddit called meal prep Sunday which has some great ideas, if you just Google meal prep Sunday you should be able to view it even without the app or an account.

I’ve cooked up some chicken tonight with a view to having it through the week for lunch.

Happy to have more ideas if you’ve got them!!

Huge batches of homemade soups, curries, stews and chicken and veg fried rice dishes are some staples I make, particularly in winter . I will also cook a roast chicken or marinate lots of chicken breasts in various marinades, freeze and then cook when needed to use for the week in salads and wraps.
