Any bread makers out there?

I love the bread baton I have bought in tesco, and want to make my own.

I have some experience making bread, but not like this.

Has anyone successfully made a bread baton that is like the tesco one, and are you willing to share your secrets? Pretty please😁

I've just put a no knead bread in the oven. Threw it together last night.

Waiting to see how that turns out.

I've made all our bread for over 10 years, I make lots of varieties and they are all delicious.

However, supermarket bread is made using a different process, called the Chorleywood process. It's why that kind of bread is so light and insubstantial compared to homemade.

The closest I've come to that kind of bread is to make an enriched dough with milk, beaten egg and/or melted butter.

Totally agree with above comment, I make my own bread and am on many FB bread making pages and practically the most common question is how do I get my bread like supermarket bread and the answer is you never will! They use different process as mentioned and lots of additives you won't have access to and don't want to be using anyway. Homemade bread is lovely but it is not the same as supermarket bread, same as packet mix cake and home made.

I've got close using a French bread recipe.

I don't like the heavy or doughy breads. I prefer light and dry.

If you like light, dry bread how about a Scandinavian crispbread? I have a Norwegian recipe book with some nice recipes.
