Is Basa imported to UK checked for pollution?

I bought a bag of ‘smoked white fish’ from Iceland , then read the back of the bag and found it to be basa.

I have read that this is farmed in what might be highly polluted waters in Vietnam.

Are levels of anything unhealthy or dangerous checked in the fish imported to the UK?

It makes DH violently ill whenever he eats it (took a few goes to work out that's what it was). He has a cast iron stomach usually, but 2-3hrs after eating it, he knows about it!

Old thread, apologies but never heard of this fish. Picked some up from Aldi in a rush thinking it looked like cod and gave it a go!!

Cooked it correctly. Oh my god, what a night 🤢. Violently sick multiple times 2 hours after consumption. Hence bringing me to this thread. Never again…..
