does it have to be cake or could it be mousse/sundae or something like that?

If it is cake have you got any small cake moulds?

How about suzywong's brownies served with some fresh fruit (like just a few strawberries and raspberries) and sprinkled with icing sugar, with creme fraiche

it looks lovely and tastes yummy .. and the brownies are easy (but it's down to timing so depends on your oven)

I have all day and have a huge tesco 2 minutes away.
I think she will be happy with anything thats chocolatey.

nigella's molten baby cakes if you can cook them at the host's house

you can prepare them at home and cook when you get there

they are divine

What's baking parchment?
Is is greasefroof paper?
These look great and easy.
Do the moulds have to be any special sort?
Are they easy to find?

i use greaseproof paper - think it is the same kind of thing

they are easy - use ramakins or metal cookware (mini tins)

you should be able to pick them up in Tesco's

bignose · 12/04/2008 12:00

Am I right in thinking that you have to line each mould with ggreaseproof paper?
Can I put the mixture in them ready and then put in fridge til needed?

by the looks of it stick them in fridge and cook for 12 mins and not 10.

they look good.

you are right

i make my mixture, line the mould with the greaseproof paper and then pour in mixture

i cover and put them in the fridge

if you do this, they need a little longer cooking time - only 1 - 2 mins IIRC

if they are done right they are all gooey and lovely in the middle

bignose · 13/04/2008 16:00

Well they went down very well.
Thank you.
