How to make a plain fritata

I have realised that I have no potatoes in the house, and have a pack of 12 chiploatas to use up so thought I would make a fritata, to go with it - so how do I make a plain fritata, I have carrots, broccoli, peas, courgette, frozen peas,

So any ideas for a tasty fritata,

or should I do it plain and add vegetables in a tomato sauce next to the sausages and fritata?

surely without the potatoes it's just an omlette?

Omelette = French = lightly beaten eggs cooked quickly over a high temperature until just set

Frittata = Italian = lightly beaten eggs cooked slowly over a low temperature until cooked through

A frittata is just an omelette but a bit thicker than the classic French omelette. So, just make an omelette.

I do ours with things like spring onion + feta, or cheese, onion and spinach, or grated courgette and carrot, with or without oniion. With peas is nice too, but my dd won't eat them so I tend to leave them out.

A fritata is a baked Italian omlette, one with just potatoes, onions and garlic is a Spanish tortilla.

So slice and fry the sausages add the vegetables you want to use, having previously cooked them, add the beaten egg. Season and allow the egg to cook over a medium heat. Meanwhile pre-heat the grill. Place the pan under the grill on a medium heat and grill until it is cooked through.

[considers self told]

No, it's not baked. the word frittata indicates that it is indeed fried (from the verb friggere, to fry). The only place I've eaten baked omelette is in the UK, certainly never here in Italy.

Oh of course you are right re the frying, I have often finished them off in the oven so was thinking of baking.

I adore Anna del Conte's sage frittata... yum.

I love the summer herbs one. So simple yet so yummy. And I'm not a great egg fan either.
