Have just been bought a Magimix :200 compact food processor.

I am useless in the kitchen - please give me some easy inspo on what to use it for! I'm not a baker... so not cakes.

What else do people use it for?

To me that's just an aid to prepping stuff for other meals rather than making anything fully in it. Although that said I would make something like smoked mackeral/salmon pate in a food processor, that is a meal of it's own I suppose! I use mine mainly for pastry/breadcrumbs/shredding vegetables for soup/coleslaw, pate as mentioned, can't think what else I use it for! Have never used it for a cake mix mind you, I use the mixer for that.

What were you hoping it would be a help with? Just so we can have some idea what to suggest.

(Should add I don't have that particular one)

Coleslaw, soup, grated cheese.
make pastry (ok, I know you said you’re not a baker but you might get into it!)
Grated carrots, sliced veg
anything you’d chop, slice, mix
hummus, pate
mousses

I bet if you search there’ll be online recipes

I’m envious, was given my old one but I just didn’t have room to store it - but it was a real workhorse compared to my cheap-and-cheerful food processor.

My friend’s old one, that should read

A box of grated cheese ready to go in the fridge is more helpful than you might initially think. Homemade coleslaw is an amazing side for loads of things and keeps really well (unless, like me, you just eat it all). Make a savoury crumble mix up, keep it in the freezer and you can chuck it over all sorts of leftovers to make another meal.

Thanks everyone so far.

Soup would be a good one and I liked the idea of grating cheese for a box in the fridge!

Coleslaw - will give that a go.

I guess I'm wondering if something like this is good for things like a ratatouille? Chopping lots of vegetables? Does it dice as well as slice things?

I make pizza base dough in mine, just chuck in bread flour, warm water, yeast, oil and mix until it turns into a ball. Chuck in an oiled bowl to rise for an hour, roll or stretch to shape top and cook. It's so easy with no kneading. I have a plastic (dough) blade.
Otherwise, coleslaw, grated cheese, thinly sliced pots for dauphinose, falafel mix, hummus, butter beans oil garlic and a bit of mustard blended to make a lovely dip.
I don't think it can dice, but you could chop with the metal blade of your careful to stop quick.
