Carrots and hummous ?

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 08/04/2008 19:45

popcorn (can buy plain kernals at holland and barratts etc), extra novelty value if you pop it at home too.

nuts

my grazing toddler gets:

-sunflower seeds
-cornflakes (the cheaper the range the lower the salt, weirdly)
-sweetcorn (?? she asked for it from the cupboard one day as a snack and so I just gave her some... ?! )
-rice cakes

and biscuits and choc and crisps at times (BAD Mum emoticon )

dried fruit is really good but not too much, just 2 or 3 max as full of sugar.
brazil nuts and almonds are great and things like sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds, but that might be getting a little too rabbit food like if you're not into that kind of thing.

My grand daughters of 9 and 5 are always ravenous after school. They like yoghurts, mini babybel cheeses, pieces of bread and butter or toast, biscuits within reason (shock/horror I hear you gasp), and of course fruit and carrot sticks, raisins/crisps too. Not Bad Mum!! They need variety and moderation in all things.

PS The 2 and 1/2 year old doesn't appreciate most of these. he'd prefer biscuits and noodles!

Breadsticks (parmesan ones are fave) with hummous and Philly to dip into. Oatcakes and cheese slices. Popcorn excellent too DANCES - only snack I don't feel guilty about nicking

gigglewitch · 08/04/2008 20:47

my lot have :
bread sticks
raisins
dried banana crisps
muesli bars
rusks even the 7yo they love them!
rich tea fingers sometimes
clementines or whatever is around at the time
dried apricots

BTW, they're dairy free so have huge limits on their snack potential otherwise.

We recently got big bag of popcorn kernals from healthstore and pop in m/wave...great grazing! Doesnt last long though cause I like it too!

Or have recently started doing "snack pot" - little pots with bit of cheese, few crisps and some fruit.

Or breadsticks with hummous/soft cheese.

or toast...toast and more toast!
