I have a Masha. Like a stick blender, but for mash. Wouldn't be without it. Gets mash properly smooth without turning it gluey. Also good for purées (guacamole etc), whisking up batters (yorkshire pud etc) , eggs, meringue.

Kenwood xl something has a potato smoother attachment in its set. A stick blender with attachments. No arm strength needed 😂

I second the Masha.
Felt ridiculous paying £30something for a potato masher but cost per serving of excellent mashed potato has meant it's been value for money.
I used to use a ricer and it was quite good; still have it to apply potato to the top of fish and shepherd's/cottage pies as it goes on a lot more tidily and doesn't sink in to the base.

I am using hand-held mixer, most basic one with 2 whisks. Perfect mash in 30 seconds!

Ricers give a lovely smooth result, but a bit of a faff to use/clean. I lost mine recently and tried an online suggestion of an electric hand mixer (the type with 2 rotary whisks).
It’s been an absolute game changer - super quick, light and fluffy, mash it in the saucepan once drained, can do enormous vats of mash in one go.
I believe a food processor or stick blender will turn the spuds to lumpy glue, instead…
mine was £5 from Argos!

If you have a hand held electric beater, the ones with the two whisk bits you stick in then that works great. I always cook potatoes in metal saucepan rather than non stick so I can whisk them up right in the pot. You get a lovely result, I haven't used my masher in years!

Potato ricer, but stainless steel not plastic.
Easy to clean; dishwasher, or just leave in soak after using.
