Fussy eater?

I have mentioned this on another thread but I am wondering if this is in the realms of normal eating for a 9 year old boy and I might be overthinking it.

He has issues with the texture of food.

He won't eat any fruit or veg with a skin on like peas, sweetcorn or apples etc. Has to be a smoothie or boiled broccoli, cauliflower or carrots. No roasted veg.
He likes a few mouthfuls of mince/sausages but says they are 'dark'.
No chicken as too chewy (nuggets, chicken burgers and chicken legs ok)
No fish unless in breadcrumb.
He prefers pasta, rice and mash to cooked potato things like chips/waffles/wedges which he often leaves most of. He does like Yorkshire puddings though.
He loves saucy/wet food like pasta and sauce, baked beans and tinned stuff like Spaghetti Hoops.
He won't drink smoothies with bits in.
Likes cheese sprinked on food but rarely cubed/sliced as a snack.
Likes cold meat snacks like satay skewers.

I feel like I struggle with protein and fat. He has lots of energy but is very slim. My Dad's side were all slim though.

This isn't being a 'fussy eater' and don't let condescending relatives and friends tell you otherwise. Look up ARFID and see whether any of the symptoms ring a bell with you.

He's on the 33rd centile and he's strong and energetic but I feel like he eats the same 3 veg day in day out.

Will he eat nuts? A great source of protein and fat.

If he will eat thinks like chicken satay could you make home made chicken skewers?

What about fruit?
Fruit with wet accompaniments like custard, cream, yogurt, evaporated milk etc.
Puddings with sauces.
What about eggs in all their forms?

I think that's pretty decent and not particularly worrying. Repetition is fine.
If he likes beans he might like other pulses. Beans/lentils are good for protein.
Chicken sausages might be worth trying.
My DSD ate only peas, peeled apples and smoothies for years. No other fruit or veg.
DD was even more limited than your DS and in recent years has got much more willing to try new food. She preferred Quorn over real meat for years as it has a consistent texture.
Look up ARFID and see if that seems to fit but I don't think what he's eating is unreasonable.

I agree he does pretty well overall and tonight he ate
greek yoghurt and honey which he would have refused a few months ago. He tried mango the other day but didn’t like it but at least he is trying new things.

He likes scrambled and boiled eggs but he doesn’t like nuts.

He loves pasta sauces so I do lentils and loads of veg in there (in the slow cooker).
