..ok last night i cooked in the oven mushrooms a chilli tomatoes and raw frozen prawns with some yogurt mixed with curry powder

i do this loads biut for some reason last night i took them out of the oven and half ate them without realising they weren';t cooked

i thought these prawns are very juicy and not that hot

so when i looked at them properly they were derfrosted and pink in plkaces but mostly still grey

so i thought oh whooppee i am going to be throwing up

so i put the rest in the fridge and went to bed

i slept for 12 hours which i have never done in my whole life

but i am fine

so i am tempted to put the rest back into the oven and cook them

what do you think?

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. Step away from the prawns.

fishie · 29/03/2008 14:31

i would except am allergic to them. so long as you really cook them properly this time. all you really did was defrost them and then chill yesterday.

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 14:31

i am so mean it seems wrong to throw them out

I should add I am scared of prawns.

LessThanImpressed · 29/03/2008 14:32

Oooooh no, wouldn't re-heat prawns
Even if you did they would probably end up like rubber bullets!
Personally I'd bin it - sorry

Maidamess · 29/03/2008 14:32

Chuck 'em.. You'll have forgotten about them by tomorrow.

LessThanImpressed · 29/03/2008 14:33

Mind you, if they get you a 12-hour kip though...

Lulumama · 29/03/2008 14:34

nooooooooooooonoooooooooo

you are asking for trouble

i complained to asda yesterday as some prawns i bought from the refrigerated section were frozen , and had been stored improperly.. big risk of poisoning from wrongly stored shellfish

and i generally would take a chance on things like this !

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 14:34

well i threw up in 1985 and in 2006...was so surprised i posted about it on mn

does that alter the odds

Lulumama · 29/03/2008 14:35

no

go and buy some more prawns!

LessThanImpressed · 29/03/2008 14:36

Lulu I have noticed this LOADS of times at our Tesco's, complained once, but they are always semi-frozen whenever I look... And the pack says 'suitable for home freezing'!
What's going on there then?

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 14:40

if they do make you ill would it be just a few hours?

i am going away on thurs and have lots to do before that

Lulumama · 29/03/2008 14:41

it could be 48 hours , zippi. don; do it

that is bad LIS, if they have been semi frozen then put into a fridge.. and then you refreeze at home

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 14:49

ok i'll bin them I have a feeling it might be worse to eat them now than it was the first time around

OP posts:

on thinking further, in order to be sure that anything dodgy is killed you'd have to cook them for ages and that would prob make them disgustingly textured.

i don't think they made you sleep.
