Frozen veg

I tend to find that often the veg I buy goes off before I have chance to get through it all. Even if I only buy a bit, sod's law we end up going to our parents to eat or people are out for meals etc. So I have started to buy frozen. Is it completely devoid of any nutritional value, how does it compare to fresh?

I think frozen veg is probably fine, but these stay fresh bags from Lakeland really work. Can also get sometihng similar in Tesco.

no
it's great
far better value - unless you are buying extremely locally and seasonally produced produce - and no pesky peeling

I keep green beans, petits pois, cauliflower and brocolli in the freezer. YUM

It's pretty good I think - and if I recall correctly, some things (eg peas) may be even better frozen (if it was done immediately after picking) than a few days old.
Some kinds of veg keep longer than others, eg squash or root veg keep ages, spinach is less good. So I tend to only buy some veg when I have a specific plan as to what I'm going to do with it, and others we always have in.

I think some of the frozen stuff is sometimes better (though I might have fallen for all the advertising).

Peas for example, frozen very soon after being picked or put in crates, transported for hours, left on a supermarket shelf, put in fridge, then eventually eaten?

Frozen veg is great quality these days. You can get organic too from sainsbury.
We have spinach, sweetcorn, green beans, peas, baby carrots, broccoli & cauliflower mix (not org), and mixed veg (mix of peas, sweetcorn, diced carrot, and chopped green bean- specifically for my toddler so she can have appropriate portions quickly and easily).

I do use fresh peppers, courgette, potatoes, onions etc etc, though you can get chopped peppers frozen, but they aren't great ime.
