Ive got into the whole cycle of giving DD exactly what i shouldnt be giving her i.e. fish fingers and waffles for tea! she's just such a fussy bugger little angel. Im an awfull eater too but i do like my greens unlike DD who will have a fit if she spots the coulour green on her plate!!

She also eats too much chocolate, its not a weight issue as shes so tiny and healthy in other ways but i need advice on how to get her eatin better and would like to know how i can try getting water down her instead of juice???

Stop buying crap.
Don't force her to eat and don't use food as a bribe or punishment. Don't cook different food for her.Put it out, don't react if she wont eat it and take it quietly away after a set time. When she is hungry, she will eat.

Re juice, water it down very gradually over time.

Thankyou i will try, i have to admit i am awfull at trying not to have crap filling the cupboards, will maybe try the old hidden veg technique (using sauces to cover it up)

don't do hidden veg unless you want to do it for the rest of her childhood. Just give some veg on the side with the rest of her meal. Fish fingers and waffles crap, fish fingers and brocoli is actually quite healthy. If she eats it fine, if she doesn't she has the other stuff to keep her going. To encourage her to eat it, you could nibble at a piece or to yourself

God,no, don't hde veg.Why?
Doing this reinforces the message that they are to be endured, not enjoyed.Second Witch's advice.

if she really balks at the moment, how about making faces with the food and veg.

ie, try to make a face. Peas make wonderful smiles

round carrots can make eyes.

peppers can make eye brows if cut properly.

broccoli can make a fine nose.

or, make a landscape, with tiny broccoli florets as tree's, collie as snow covered tree's, carrots as the sun.....etc etc.

it is very easy once you get into it to encourage them into thinking food (veg) can be fun and appertising rather than boring and a chore to eat.

if she still won;t eat veg, then at least ensure she has good access to fruit, as that at least is sweet and can be choped into finger peices and then with a yoghurt/fromage frais can be used as a dip!!!!

God, I really hate it when people faff with food like that Psycho (sorry). It is food and intrinsically intersting.it doesn't need to be hidden or disguised or jazzed up.Eat it if you want it,don't if you don't.

don;t apologize moondog....each to their own IMO.

I found it helped for my DD1 who was really fussy at eating......even tho she never got offered anything but fruit and veg and good wholesome food! me making it into faces got her interested again, and once she was eating I slowly stopped it and went back to normal again.

believe me tho, after 5, I don;t faff anymore!!! eat it, don;t eat it, their choice, altho I admit to getting irritated about it at times.

I am staggered frankly that anyone with 5 kids manages to feed them all something evcery day.I'm sure I'd leave someone out.
