My children have always loved this mushroom, kale and lentil soup.

I also make a tarka dal often (no set recipe, it's just my brain) that they have with rice, naan, yoghurt and fresh raw veg like cucumber, tomatoes, peppers.

And an Omelette Arnold Bennett has always been a firm favourite too, which I personally think is odd because I don't think it sounds instantly appealing to young children, but they seem to really like it. This is probably closest to how I make mine.

Can you be more specific? What sort of stuff do you like?

Vegetarian meals around here are often curries or pasta sauces (tomato, aubergine and feta is a big favourite at the moment. Spinach, ricotta, lemon also goes down well).

Aubergine, mushroom and goats cheese burgers (add a bit of honey) are good.

Risottos are often kid friendly and easy to do vegetarian.

My children generally prefer fairly basic fish recipes - fried cod/haddock with chips/potatoes and veg for example. DS used to love fish pie as a toddler but I can't stand it so we never make it. Do they like prawns? Prawns fried in a bit of garlic butter, very quickly, then a splash of wine wine (a splash, literally) boiled off quickly and mixed with spaghetti, lemon and a bit of parsley is nice.

I do often buy pre-made fish cakes or battered fish fillets to cook in the airfryer.

Mine won't eat mackerel but I've seen lots of children dig into smoked mackerel pate when I take it to BBQs. I make mine very basic with cream cheese, lemon and lots of pepper.

Pizza: tomato and onions in the sauce, peppers, sweetcorn, red onion and (possibly) mushrooms.
Tuna and or prawns if they like them.
I think that you're only supposed to give children tuna once a week which is a shame as it's good protein, but eggs are always a good choice.
Boiled egg and crudite soldiers was popular when mine were little: especially if they can turn the egg over when they are finished so that you say 'oh! You haven't even started your egg, let me open it for you', and then be astonished to find it hollow when you hit it with a spoon. It's a silly game but all of mine loved being able to trick me. 🙂
Stuffed things: tomatoes, potatoes, pepper halves: fill them with tasty moist things, not just grains.

Serve hot and cold things together so they learn to eat (eg peppers) cooked or crispy in different meals.

A basic pasta sauce of tomatoes, onions and red peppers for sweetness can be used for pasta, pizza, as a dip for anything, as a topping for anything. You can poach eggs in it to eat from a bowl with crusty bread, or even as a base for a (mild) chilli with tinned beans and more chopped peppers. If you're using it with pasta a handful of spinach leaves and some sprinkled cheese makes it a bit more grown up if you get sick of toddler gayer!

Fayre, not gayer! Stupid spellchecker!

My favourite (4portions) recipe is -
300g Orzo pasta
1 Boursin garlic and herb (add at end)
Bag of cherry tomatoes
1 bell pepper
1 courgette
1 onion
Vegetable stock (600ml)
Spinach (add at end)

All in a pan with a lid. Cook pasta, chopped veg in the stock until orzo is cooked, add spinach and stir in Boursin. Takes about 30mins to cook, just keep stirring it ever so often so it doesn't stick to pan.

Thanks everyone
