I vaguely remember doing this before and living to tell the tale.

Cold (ish) water should defrost them in no time.

Cold water is ok, hot is not.

Buda · 21/03/2008 18:37

Cold water would be better I think

francagoestohollywood · 21/03/2008 18:37

cold water

sandyballs · 21/03/2008 18:38

Ahhh, so cold water, not hot. Then can I just eat them? Not intending to cook them - dds want them in a jacket potato. Don't want to poison them.

sandyballs · 21/03/2008 18:42

frozen? Really?

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 21/03/2008 18:43

I don't think you can get poisoned from defrosted food, unless it's been defrosted for days.

ll....the fishy one should know, but cold is quick anyhoo.

Blu · 21/03/2008 18:49

If you will be eating them immediately adterwards I agree with cod.

Leaving them around warm, without them heating them to a vo hot temperature would indeed be a bit dodgy, but warm for two minutes will be fine - I don't think bacteria can multiply to dangerous levels in the two mins it would take to defost a prawn.

Or...pop them in the microwave for 10 secs.

KimiKilledTheEasterBunny · 21/03/2008 18:57

Never hot water.... cold is ok though.
