Do you have a decent frying pan for induction?

My one from Lidl is losing its non stick coating. Do I need non stick, would cast iron be better?

I have two heavy-bottomed stainless steel frying pans and a low-budget non-stick pan for making omelettes. And I have a cast iron pan that I can put in the oven too.

I replace the non-stick pan about every six years.

I've got stainless steel ProCook frying pans.

Based on MN recommendations, I bought Scoville Neverstick and now have them in three sizes. The lining has never budged, although you do have to store them carefully to avoid chipping the edges. They're great on induction hobs.

I ruined many a non stick (teflon) pan in my earlier years until I found out that you should never try to wash them until cold. I have always tried to clean as I go so have a sink of hot water already soapy before I start cooking. Hot water when pan is still hot kills the coating.

I saw your title and for a split second thought you were talking about childbirth. I wondered why you’d need a frying pan. 😂

We hated our procook ones as their bases bowed dreadfully. Now we have some from the vogue professional range (used in commercial kitchens so can take a battering) and also some made by Kuhn Rikon (also found in a lot of commercial kitchens). Would never go back to tefal or supermarket own brands again as these have solid heavy bases which don't bow, the non stick ones look new (after years of use) and although they were quite expensive to buy we've had value for that money.

Brand alley, and homesense stock Kitchen Aid stainless steel. You really can’t go wrong!
