Ok, if you like it chunky!
mince (75g per child, 100g per adult, 150g per fat bast**d)
1 big onion finely chopped
2 Peppers any colour roughly chopped
500g mushrooms roughly chopped
2 courgettes roughly chopped
2 carrots diced
2 tins of chopped toms
oregano - about 2 teaspoonfuls
garlic to taste finely chopped or pressed
black pepper & salt to season
box of lasagna
1 large bottle white lasagna sauce
Grated chees - cheddar, mozzerella or parmesan depending on taste

fry off your onions & garlic til transluscent then add mince and brown. Either do it with olive oil or if you don't want it too greasy fry in a little water.
Add tomatoes and rest of veg with seasoning & herbs
Allow to simmer for 30mins
Layer up lasagna in a square dish (easier to serve up)
Mince, white sauce, lasagna, mince and so on
finishing with a layer of white sauce. Cover with grated cheese
Put in oven at 200C, Gas Mark 6 for about 45 mins - reduce time if fan oven
Serve with fresh crusty bread and a green salad
Enjoy with copious quantities of red wine

Would prefer to make own white sauce i think.

Anyone have recipy for a white sauce to cover all that!!? Thanks

Do yuo think fresh crusty bread is better than garlic bread????

for white sauce I do equal weight of butter and flour and then just add milk until its the right consistency. Sometimes add a bit of mustard to give it a bit of a kick.

McDreamy · 19/03/2008 13:38

Lasagne always works!!

Curry, chilli good options too!

I loathe garlic bread so probably biased, if you just do fresh crusty bread don't have to shove it in the oven cuts down on preparation and timings. As for the suace, sorry for assumption! I do a similar white sauce but add in a couple of whole peppercorns and am anal enough to count them in and count them out . Could add a bay leaf too if you happen to have a tree handy. Need about a pint of milk, 40g butter and flour but add the flour slowly to your roux as you don't want to overdo it then gradually add the milk (which you can warm first with all the bits in then strain)when you have added about half the milk you can be a bit more cavalier and use a balloon whisk and add larger amounts but whisk vigorously. When all the milk is in turn down the heat and stir occassionly cooking for about 5 mins. Your done
